Our Patriotic Objective

Our Patriotic Objective is shown through projects of our following standing committees:

  • The Flag of the United States of America Committee fosters a greater respect for and knowledge of the history of the Flag of the United States of America.
  • The National Defense Committee keeps the members informed concerning National Defense issues and dangers through articles published in our magazine, The Colonial Courier.
  • The Patriotic Education Committee's projects include presenting awards to outstanding history and ROTC students, donating books to libraries, promoting essay and poster contests, presenting patriotic projects to students and civic groups, giving American flags to new citizens, assisting with naturalization ceremonies, etc. Past Patriotic Education Committee projects include donating educational backpacks to Saint Mary's City, MD, for families to use while touring that historical site, and donations for the publication of Junior Ranger Activity Books at Fort Raleigh National Historical Site, NC..
  • The Veterans’ Services Committee which, among other activities, encourages volunteer service in veterans hospitals.
  • The National Awards Committee which provides annual awards for achievement at the United States Service Academies across the country. State Societies and Chapters also present American history and citizenship awards through the work of this committee.
